Therapeutic Riding Lessons are offered to children and adults in need of services March through November. 

All therapeutic riding lessons are taught by PATH Intl. CertifiedTherapeutic Riding Instructors or are supervised by a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors at all times.  

Lessons are usually grouped into a 10 week session with 1-2 week breaks in between sessions that are utilized to schedule make-up sessions, horse downtime, and staff planning.

Payments for lessons can be paid at the beginning of each lesson, monthly, or paid in advance as a package.  Hope Haven will give a 5% discount for an entire three month package that is paid for in advance.

Private lessons:  15 minutes unmounted, 30 minutes mounted                             $35.00

Group lessons:   15 minutes unmounted, 45 minutes mounted                             $35.00

 Evaluations:  15 minutes unmounted, 45 minutes mounted                                 $35.00

  • First evaluation: All prospect riders/clients will receive an initial up to one hour individual evaluation by a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor.   These evaluations are conducted by Hope Haven to ensure that therapeutic riding will be safe and beneficial to the rider, staff, and volunteers.  It also allows for us to determine the type of mount, number of volunteers, best lesson situation, and establishment of long/short term goals in planning future lessons.
  • Other evaluations: Hope Haven conducts scheduled evaluations of progress at the beginning and end of a three month session.  However, Hope Haven, at any time may conduct an evaluation on a need to basis any time during the client’s three month sessions if we deem it necessary.
